About Venue

Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic and of the picturesque Bohemia region. The city, with over one million inhabitants, is known as the city of a Hundred Spires or the Golden City, and is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Exploring Prague is like immersing yourself in a fairy-tale land with its cobbled streets and its infinite number of beautiful towers and charming buildings. What’s more, you’ll be able to discover the city’s boutiques, all exquisitely decorated, and try some of the Czech Republic’s cuisine. Prague’s authentic Medieval atmosphere will captivate its visitors, making it impossible to forget their visit to the Czech Republic’s capital.

Prague soon became the centre of the emerging Czech state. Rulers started to control the surrounding areas from Prague Castle. Prague flourished remarkably in the 14th century under the reign of Charles IV, King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor. The city was significantly expanded by the Prague New Town and the ruler established a university which is still there, bearing his name to this day.

HIGHLIGHTS OF PRAGUE:

The city centre is compact and the finest areas are mostly pedestrianized, so Prague is best explored on foot; from Wenceslas Square on one side of the city to Prague Castle on the other is just a 30-minute stroll (walking via the Old Town, across the river and through the Lesser Town).

The first thing to do in Prague, therefore, is simply to wander through the streets and magnificent squares, to revel in the atmosphere and to admire the stunning architecture all around
