Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) for Identification of SARS-CoV-2
In this study, we used Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) with silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) as the active substrate to develop a novel, simple, quick, and accurate method for detecting, identifying, and diagnosing SARS-CoV-2 virus, which is suitable for detecting complex biomolecules without the need for RNA isolation and purification.

Chiral Nano-inorganics to Disclose the Origins of Biochemical Homochirality
Many of life’s building blocks (e.g., amino acids and sugars) exhibit homochirality, with one stereoisomeric configuration preferentially existing over its mirror image, leading to chirality-dependent interactions and functions in biological systems. The existence of biochemical homochirality raises a fundamental yet unanswered question about the origin of molecular enantiopreference on Earth. One of the keys to answer this question is to understand external chiral forces to trigger symmetry breaking, which has been believed to induce the homochirality through chirality amplification. Symmetry breaking usually occurs in a stochastic manner, and chiral stimulations to trigger and control the symmetry breaking is ambiguous and under debate. Some external chiral forces have been proposed, including asymmetric mechanical forces, chiral electromagnetic fields and chiral organic-organic interactions.

Metabolic Engineering on a 3D-Printed Microfluidic Platform: A New Approach for Modular Co-Metabolic pathways
Metabolic engineering of cell factories often requires extensive modification of host cellular machinery, leading to numerous challenges such as metabolic burden, intermediate metabolite toxicity, and inadequate endogenous fluxes. To overcome the limitations, we presented an innovative approach for metabolic engineering, by constructing modular biosynthetic pathways on a 3D-printed microfluidic platform.

Transdermal wearable sensors for mental health analytics
In this presentation we will feature our flexible electrochemical probes based on biomimetric responsive composite hydrogels for in-situ multiplex detection of biologically relevant chemical markers, e.g., redox biomarkers, pH, biogenic amines, lactate, cortisol, and adrenaline. The composite hydrogels in these sensors simultaneously serve as an interface for biological fluid sampling and a medium for electrochemical sensing.

emistry for Li-ion battery active materialsAlternative synthesis methods and electroch
There is an increasing demand for Cathode active materials (CAM) and Anode active materials (AAM). CAM materials are typically composed of coated metal oxides and AAM carbon-based materials doped by silicon for high energy applications and lithium spinel-structured lithium titanate (Li4Ti5O12; LTO)/carbon composite materials for high power applications. The most important driving element to the increasing
demand of these materials is the sift from internal combustion engines to electric motors (EVs) in automobile industry.

Dissecting dual specificity: Identifying key residues in L-asparaginase for enhanced acute lymphoid leukemia therapy and reduced adverse effects
L-asparaginase from Escherichia coli (EcA) has been used for the treatment of acute lymphoid leukemia (ALL) since the 1970s. Nevertheless, the enzyme has a second specificity that results in glutaminase breakdown, resulting in depletion from the patient's body, causing severe adverse effects
